A School Enthronement places Jesus as the leader of the school administrators, faculty, staff, and students. Jesus is acknowledged as a friend, guide, counselor, and spiritual physician. Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not prevent them; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14)

Learn More About Enthronement Of The Sacred Heart
Austin Catholic was first approached by Kerry Schaeffner about the Enthronement of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in 2016. Schaeffner is a 1963 Austin Catholic Preparatory High School alumnus, Austin Catholic High School Board Member, and President of the Men of the Sacred Hearts Board. Austin Catholic’s administration enthusiastically agreed to participate in the event. “The Enthronement is a visual reminder of our faith and devotion to Jesus. We were honored to participate,” said Principal Janel Coppens.
After our move to our permanent home in the Fall of 2017, Austin Catholic’s Administration, Staff, and Students realized that we wanted to enthrone our new home. This past March 2018, the Men of Sacred Heart returned to ACHS to enthrone the new building. Each room was consecrated to the Sacred Heart Jesus by Father Robert Slaten and Deacons Tim Maxwell and Dennis Loffreda. The enthronement provided the opportunity to carry out our core values of Truth, Unity and Love. Students and Staff experience Jesus’ presence every day at Austin by having a constant visual reminder that Jesus is the center of everything we do. Knowing this provides not only comfort but also clarity for all that enter Austin Catholic High School.
